Genre Research: Split

1) Common CAMS
  - The common camera angles from the movie "Split" are high angle, eye level, pan, tilts. two person shots, and close up shots.

2) Common CLAMPS
  - The costumes in this movie are realistic to what people wear on a daily basis. Also the costumes resemble the characters multiple personalities.
  - The lighting in this movie begins natural and darkens at points to make a creepier mood.
  - The actors fit their roles very well in this movie and act accordingly.
  - The makeup is minimal in this movie in order to make it seem more realistic.
  - The prop used in this movie are flowers, phones, knives, pillows, and more. 
  - The setting is a small town. It specifically takes place in a parking lot and a deserted house.

3) Common Sounds
  - The sound in this movie is diegetic and music. An example of the music is incidental as it is used to bring emotion. 

4) Common Editing
  - Most of the editing used for this movie is to shock the the audience. These are common throughout the entire movie.

5) Elements of Genre
  - Some of the elements this movie included are high energy, jump scares, and the element of surprise.

6) What elements do I like
  - One element I liked from this movie was the story-line in the movie, especially how it develops along with high energy scenes such as the one where the police are called.

7) What elements do I not like
  - An element from this movie that I disliked is how the movie did not build suspense. There were many jump scares and surprises but the audience was not left wondering.
